Risk Assessment and Conflict Management

This one day course is designed for all staff likely to be working with others who present challenging behaviour, and where this training need has been identified as a way of reducing risk, and increasing confidence in staff who are faced with potentially violent or aggressive situations. This course is usually a prerequisite to physical intervention training because it is preventative rather than intervention training.

Aspects covered include:

  • Preventive and reactive strategies
  • Specific de-escalation techniques
  • Principles of physical intervention
  • The need for self awareness and self-care
